I looked everywhere but I can't find a schematic for this one. Does anybody have it?

Any suggestions for mods? It would be nice to get a bit more volume out of this thing. The drive feels a bit fizzy as well. Not very responsive :(

Thanks to all!

Use the schematic for the Metal Charger. The're the same. Browse the HC reviews for a simple and quick mod that will suit your needs by removing 4 diodes.

Thanks Dirk, I found everything. It seems like diodes are the ones to go after. So I think I'll socket them and experiment for a while. I'll post back what I find.

The cloppers. The SM's have 3 clipping stages. Removing 2 of these sets is an old trick to get a wider variety of sounds from the pedal while the max clipping barely suffers from this removal. Other than that the output level finally gets decent for stage use instead of "bedroom metal only".

Specifically, D3,D4 and D5,D6, in those pairs. I replaced them with red 3mm LEDs and it sounds a lot better, and has a nice powerful EQ.

Just a question: should I solder a jumper in place of the removed diodes or not?

No jumper. Just remove. Here is a link to the page HC page: http://www.harmonycentral.com/products/113250
If you use Ctrl + F in your browser to search for the term "diode" then you will find relevant posts. Although people are all recommending different mods. Give it a read. Decide for yourself.

Thanks, so it seems I have a problem.. I'll try to find out more about it, in case I'll ask for some help in the proper section.

I modded this box removing the D3, D4, D5 and D6 diodes as suggested by various people. Now the power led doesn't light, and all I get is a buzz doing thump-thump-thump-thump coming from the amp.
Did anyone experience a similar problem?

Thanks in advance!

By the way, I took a look to the MS10 PCB and it's different from the one on SM9; at least, it looks different.

I solved it, it seems it was a problem with the momentary switch.

I found the solution to the problem. In the next days I'll figure out if and how to replace the diodes.
