To dark even in '66 mode? Try lower value then - 4n7 or 3n3.G5120fx wrote:I built the new vero yesterday, and i really like it. It´s a little too dark sounding with my Gretsch?! Should I experiment with the 6,8nf to get a bit more treble?

Or You can use fixed 50K or 100K level pot without using switch with 47K on it.

it's traced from original unit that I used to have.monkeyxx wrote:these layouts are very different from the ones, and the schematic, that IvIark posted for the 1966. Are these verified? what schematic were they based on?
comparing to previous version - there are some changes in circuit - super bee mode is different (previously there was switch between 4n7 and 10n output cap), bias trimpot is on Q1 instead Q2, there's no 47pF cap on Q2 base and collector, and on Q1 was decreased to 220pF instead 470pF, Level pot values was changed from 50K to 500K.

what are the transistors supposed to be biased at? similar to fuzz face? I'm not getting a whole lot of sustain either as noted by an earlier poster

I preffer old style output capacitor switching, but this is just matter of taste..

I want to build a DAM 1966 Copy but as I read this thread I got a little confused.
Which is the latest/most authentic layout I can find here?
Has anybody a good source in Europe for Germanium transistors like OC76 or AC125 perfect for a Vox Tonebender style pedal?
Thanks, Hendrik

DAM 1966 were build at least using three different layouts, all are authentic. You can also use different layouts or pcbs to get same results.Sonofthebeach wrote:I want to build a DAM 1966 Copy but as I read this thread I got a little confused.

Best source of germanium transistors nowdays is ebay, I think.
Langrex have great stuff:
