okay.. I was struggling to figure out how to make this happen, but Seiche helped out with his suggestion to flip the image (for fitting the SMD) and Fender3D helped out with his pulse LED mod (not included in the layout below, but this link explains it) .. there's a spot on the PCB for that trigger ...so thanks to you both.
here's the pics..
outs incl an LED to show it's enabled, and the right one pulses with the rate.

and the guts.. you can't see it from here, but because I had to flip the image/pcb to accommodate the SMD OTAs the opamp is also inverted 0 uh-oh.. so I had to bend the pins inside out... bear in mind if you want to make this you'll need to do that, or redo the layout to suit.

I like it!

Are you using 0.5mm or thinner solder? Seems to be quite a lot of tin happening some places in there.. thinner solder makes it a lot easier to get good results.

thanks.. um.. I think it's 0.6.. but I suspect that's happening cos of the $100 solder/rework station I'm using.. it's no hakko/weller that's for sure

Totally lovin' it! SOT 14 soldering isn't that difficult as some might think. In fact it's pretty easy once you got the knack.

Love it! :applause:

I've been working a lot with SMD lately, and I find it to be kind of cool in a lot of ways.
