right? how the hell do you keep that solid core so...virgin! you must just box it up straight after attaching wiring to the board? i usually end up checking the board on the breadboard before i box it up, and the wires always get a little tweaked. it really does look fantastic.

I dont use solid core. It would kink too easily and I think it is more likely to look like crap. I am usually very careful with populating a board and equally careful while wiring so things often come out working just fine. Since the Magnus requires no tweaking, its pretty safe to build and box right away.

Cathexis at diystompboxes made an effects loop: http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main. ... p.jpg.html

He gets the synth sound with a phaser inserted in the loop.

finally painted the magnus modulous.. (and have since realised that I've misspelled 'modulus' :slap: )
...yet to look for some knobs for it, so here it is knobless (ooer)
not tested to see if it's working again after painting as yet, and need to take some gut shots too (but they're embarrassingly sloppy.. too many wires to make a nice job like some of you have posted), but I'm pretty happy with it..
took the base plate back to bare aluminium cos I like the contrast and the red is much 'redder' IRL :)

Just for the record, using my current layout to build this effect and sell it is totally cool. All I did was connect up some other bits and pieces. Without all the great info here, tonepad, byoc, diy ... I wouldn't have made it.

Hopefully it helps you make some music. It's definitely a fun thing to play around on.

Yeah, you should be able to find a way to cram it in there. I'm not sure what size bit your board was drilled with, maybe try making the hole bigger with a 1mm bit.

I had to really cram mine in there but it fit after some coaxing.
