Great sounding pedal btw!
The patch is for Gearbox. I don't think it works with Line 6 edit because Line 6 edit can't handle the "dual tone" patches that the X3 has. Gearbox will work with the xt and X3.
D'oh! I completely missed that :slap:

100 Ohm resistor in series with the input and small cap( 47 pF ) to ground!

Yes, that is a good idea!
But I'm surprised it has the radio interference problem. I've built a couple and neither had any problems like that. It may be an issue of layout or wiring.

I've used the 301 at low RF frequencies as a buffer stage between an oscillator and amplifiers. It's one of the best op-amps for RF use! :shock:

Soul Sonic Hunny Bunny

It's a cool little hybrid combo of an opamp driving a MOSFET. I came up with the skeleton of the circuit this past summer, and today I built it up on the breadboard to flesh out some details. It has a great range of drive, from light and crunchy to thick and heavy. At it's highest settings, some people might consider it a distortion, I guess it just depends on how hot your pickups are.
just built this pedal using the component values in the schematic ... it sounds really, really good .... most excellent design, mate ! 8)

I rather like my practice of reversing the layout and putting huge red circles on to indicate trace cuts.
Do BS170s in layouts like this needs static protection diodes like in SHO-style circuits?
I like this circuit through my amp, but I also tried it through a Vox amp and the amount of high end was painful. It's a good candidate for a tone control.
What is the Vbias?

Vbias is a common abbreviation for Bias Voltage ... in most stompbox circuits that run off a 9V battery, Vbias is set to approximately 4.5V ....

Ok, that was new to me. Thank you for the enlightment :thumbsup

Maybe its a dumb question but could somebody share/make a layout for perfboard?

How can I cure the fizzyness and gating decay on this one? Tried different LM301´s and BS170´s, but no difference. Voltages:

LM301:

1.44 --- 3.4
4.03 --- 8.1
3.36 --- 4
0 --- 1.34

BS170:

D = 4.4
G = 4
S = 1.7

Tested also with TL071 and 741 but that "ugly" distortion is more or less there anyway so it´s not because of the opamp.

Here's mine. It's a etched 1590A. When I was removing the black toner after the etch, I though it looks cool this way, so I keeped it.

Sorry, didn't got to record the soundsample. But there's one at the bottom of Soulsonic's page: http://www.soulsonicfx.com/?page_id=88. Mine sounds very similar, but with more highs. I didn't add the tone pot that's mencioned here at this thread.

My version of this
220pf Compensation Cap, B1k honey pot, trimpot on drain with 2n7000 mosfet, 10k resistor and 4.7nf cap to ground on output to volume pot.
