Bajaman ... BUMP!

Super duper proyect!
A perfect gift for a keyboardist friend! One question (silly, I suppose after reading the explanations above): In the end, can I substitute 3004's by 3007's without changing anything? They don't do any change in their app notes. See below:
MN3004 vs MN 3007.doc
(246.5 KiB) Downloaded 312 times
I read about the clock issues, but I don't really understand it in deep, so if I just substitute them, what problem will I find?

Thanks for your time

excuse for my bad english - I´m an old german. I like it to built my clone-effects, but I can not understand all the technical details. My friends from german forum says over guys like me: "Er malt nach Zahlen!"
So I hope another boy will share his finally schematic and a pcb-layout with me, so I can just as well built a CX3 rotary effect. I will learn - but I´m not a electronics technician. But I like it to play my guitar with my selfmade effekts!! It makes so proud
Please, can somebody help?

Hi, Bastelfixx
Most of the mods (if not all) are value changes that not implies a new PCB design than the originally posted by Baja and the original schemo is in the thread, so you only need to follow the numbers  (just a joke about Er malt nach Zahlen!)
Just try it :thumbsup

Hey, Jarno... it's me or been a long time since your last post?
If it's that the case, welcome back! If not, good to see you, any way

Hi all. My first post here.

I've build this circuit with MN3007, wich fit on the board without modifications. Thanks Baja for your work. To me it sound great with guitar, especially the low speed.

While doing some mods i found a way to make a break switch. You have to jumper to ground the junction of R104/R105 (horn) and R108/R109. It's like changing the resistors value that set the low frequency LFO to 0. Works for me. It slows down until stops.

I'm still fighting wth the AM section, at the high speed I miss the "thump".

Thanks Baja and all others for this excellent project. Worth the time it takes.

Fixed the tremolo section, it was a short on a trace. Now it's real good sounding.

My only complaint is that the waveform of the LFO is like a sawtooth. The rise is very short, and the fall is a lot longer, on both oscillators (rotor and horn).
Baja, is it only my circuit or it happens on your clone too? Is there a way to make it more like a sine wave?

Thanks.

This is one of these projects for which you etch a board, partially populate it and then put it aside waiting for the last few components to arrive with a next order of parts. Naturally when that order is made these parts are forgotten. Other than that I had to make the MN3004 to TDA1022 adapter boards.

So, the MN's showed up unexpectedly and the missing parts were mimicked by some series and parallel connections.

Lovin it!
(Although I have to admit I'm not sure wether I like this one or the Farfisa Sferasound circuit better). A combination of the 2 may sound absolutely killing!
Sorry. Plain out of planes.

And, thanks for being fueled by this project, I picked up a broken (now back to functional) CX-3. I like the rotary better for guitar than it is in the organ. (Which is quite nice in turn).

nice endorsement. CX-3's sound great. Old or new.
It is funny. This was one of my first etches. Yes, I was ambitious. And it did fade away as I partially populated it, and now I cannot find my mn3007's. I am also on hiatus because of shaky hands (medicine side effect). One of my goals is to have a real build report and soundclip for this one.

Does anyone have a good source for legitimate mn3007 chips in N America? smallbear has them, but $11 seems steep.
