I realized that R19 and R31 are different on the 3205 version. I just changed these and it still sounds the same. Is it possible that these values being wrong hurt anything?

just solved my problems on my AP... no delayed signal
I've built the Bajaman version and the madbean version with v3205 and in both there was no delay... I've spent several times to fix the problem but there was no errors in the PCB!
I've solved with the substitution of R19 (22R to 1,5k)... now the pedal works like a charm!
CHANGE R19 IF YOU HAVE INSTALLED V3205 CHIP!!!

Here's my Aquaboy build . Used Mn3005's and it sounds good. Had some issues at first, but I've sorted it out. I think R36 on the parts list should be a 47k5; I replaced R6,7,33,34,36 with fresh 1% 47k5's and my problems were solved.
I know it's pretty spaghetti-ish in there, but it's a solid build (though a tight squeeze). When you add the modulation board and wire the pots up there's a whooooole lotta 22 gauge love going on there.

Okay... at the risk of pissing everybody and their grandma off, I'll tell you how I got the MN3005's. My local electronics shop (whose kids I'm personally putting through college) had 4 3005's sitting around for a decade. He gave them to me for $5 each.

Taking the advice on the modulation/double delay thread, I used a high-bright white LED and what I think is a very generic, average photoresistor. I stuck 'em in some black heat shrink and presto.
It works well, I get way more depth of modulation than I'll ever use, and there's a good range of speed.

Mix pot question:
I'm working on one of these for a friend and he said he'd rather have unity on the repeats with the mix knob almost full on - right now unity is about midway up and he doesn't prefer to have the repeats louder than the original signal.
Resistor change ?

I have build the aquaboy based on Madbeans PCB. (Posted this question at Madbeansforum a few days ago but have had a response yet. Maybe someone here can help.)
I have used the double delay time board with two V3205's, MN3102 and NE570.
It is working, but I have a delayed signal that is louder then it should be.
Mix at noon puts the delay signal already way above the dry signal. Also I have some distortion on the delays.
Also the feedback starts oscillating at 1 o'clock. Way too early.
I checked all components and readings. (R31 is 22k in my build by the way)
I accidently turned Q4 around and although that should not work it brought the signal to the right level and also the feedback was reacting better.
That made me think that the delay signal is too loud because either the signal from the NE570 to the V3205 is too loud (which would explain the distortion) or the signal coming from the V3205 to the NE570 back is too loud (which would not explain the distortion). I do know that the delay should not be completely clean but this distortion is too much. Could it be that we are driving the V3205 (in my case even two) too loud in this build??
Is it possible to reduse the gain of the transitor stage (Q2) to reduse the gain going in the V3205's?
All voltages read as posted elswhere. There is only one deviation in reading: NE570 pin 10+ 11 read 3,5 volts where it should be 4,1 volts.

I now have a working Aquaboy with double delay time and modulation board.
For future reference:

I added a resistor of 56k from C15 to the junction of R15 and the BBD to bring down the level going into the delay (and to control the distortion).
I used a 30k for R31 to put the oscillation on the feedback kno at the very last quarter.
The delay is quiet and and clock noise is not audible.
PCB for the Aquaboy by Madbean and the modulation and double delay boards by Abfackeln.

Sounds like lots of people are building this with the Cool Audio v3205. Is this working as well as the MN3205? I have a board and am getting ready to build it up. I'd like to hear your opinions. Where has everyone been getting their BBD chips?

hi guys... I've an empty hole on my chassis, so I want to install a "clamp-oscillation" switch
on the madbean's PDF I read:
"You can put two back to back diodes between lugs 2 and 1 of the Feedback pot to clamp the maximum amount of
oscillation. This will keep the volume level of the feedback from getting out of control. Use an SPST if you want to make it
switchable. Try two 1n914’s."
I've just a DPDT... So, this layout is ok?

I have build this with madbeans pcb and abfackeln's mod board and double delay time board. The delay works very well. It has a nice long delay time with the double time board. It takes some tinkering to adjust all the trimpots. I did it by ear using the instructions from the BYOC board ( see somewhere back in this thread) Initiatly the dealy sounded distorted so I trimed back the level going in the BBD by socketing R 15 and using a temporary pot I found out that 56k was a good value for me. Now it is not distorting and I still have enough delay level. Maybe this is because I used the V3205's. In any case socket R15 would be my suggestion.
I am still fine tuning the modulation board. It works but the speed cuts out on the fastest speed and for the right depth range I have changed a few LDR's. I have a combination now that works but I still have modulation even when the depth pot is at zero. I will get there.
It is a very nice sounding delay. Very warm sound and with almost noise free. It is on my pedalboard that I use for gigs all the time.
I would use the V3205's again if I would build it again.

Anyway, same problem with the distortion and too high of delay level marc noted as well as the oscillation. Fixed the oscillation problem with a larger resistor but am still laving issues with the distortion. I threw a 56k in place of r15 but didn't notice much difference. Is r15 the resistor to be replacing or should there be a resistor added between c15 and r15? Thanks guys.

My experience was that the BBD was getting too much signal and that was causing the BBD to distort.
I replaced R15 with a trimpot to find out at what value the signal was loud enough and clean enough. Then I removed the trimpot and measured the value at wich the trimpot was set and used that value for the resistor at R15. So yes you can substitute R15 with a different value, but you have to find out what works for you. I ended up with 56k. So my suggestion is to socket R15.
So yes replace R15. If it did not solve your issue then maybe you have something else not right.

Well, I tried the trim pot idea and it did not work. t is still distorted. Only way to fix is turning down guitar volume. Initial sound is fine, but delay signal distorts especially on low notes. I started by setting bias to pass signal and then adjusted clock to get rid of whine. Cancel made no audible difference. I've been testing with feedback at 0 so I get only one repeat to hear it better. I also fine tuned voltage going to v3205 and it is sitting at 7.5.
Did you use the ne570 or ne571? I am using the 570 as I read it didn't make a difference. I also used a 2n5089 for q2.
