There's some clips listed earlier in the thread (Plus a new one)

http://www.pedalarea.com/phasers.htm

As far as I know, those are the only samples around of the unit.

Thanks for links......but I was thinking on that cloned one...... :thumbsup

so ...this is posted in ..READY TO BUILD...section.........

so can we expect your version of pcb design to be posted? with those modifications?

cheers

Ahh, no demos of the clone yet, that'll have to wait till people build it up.

Do you mean the production boards? If so follow the link above, as for a PCB layout in itself they are 4-Layer PCBs so not DIYable, let alone it not being entirely my work (It's Duckmans, I just added some suggestions with the help of Abfackeln prototyping it) plus I have no idea how to post Express PCB layouts.

If you want to make your own, see the first few posts of the thread with the Toppopiccione layout.

OK - I get the message! I'll get drawing this week, and you can try it out. I'll do a Vero and a PCB for it, too. I'll get to work tomorrow night.
Any news on the horizon?

Does anyone fancy a zombie face vector graphic?

The original Bad Stone artwork has always been one of my favorites so bringing the face into the digital world was much fun! The PDF is vector ready so open her up into your favorite image editing software and you're good to go. The image in the PDF is large to show smoothness of the lines, zoom in all day and she won't distort! I really wanna throw this thing on a shirt.

Enjoy! I want to see some cool ass decals! :thumbsup

Group t-shirt order! I think a refreshing lime green hoodie would be cool.

Exactly how do you order a Freestompboxes.org t-shirt anyway?..... :)

I took a stab at making an Original Style PCB Layout copy from your shots...

I'm not 100% Happy with it but, it's a starting point for someone else to try atleast! Don't think I missed anything on it, i'll try and get to an overlay soon.

Can the four 4558's be replaced with two TL074's? Shouldn't b a problem, I guess?

btw: is there a quad version of the 4558 with the same pinout as a tl074?
I'm planning a vero layout, maybe for a 1590B. I could use RC4136 (different pinout) because I have many of them, but the layout wouldn't be of much use for other people, because the 4136 has become quite rare...

Should be fine with TL074s i'd have thought yeah, i'd probably go with them over a quad 4558 alternative (if there is such a thing) anyway.

If you're re-doing things i'd drop the feedback knob and have it be a switch, it seems to work either on or off.

And don't forget some form of switchable output boost!

I was working at an old bad stone pcb I made years ago today. It seemed that the swing of the LFO was stopping briefly in the bass range and I was looking for ways to control the offset. After some experimenting I found that replacing R38 in the schematic (470ohm) with a 1-5k pot wired as a variable resistor opened up the sweep and narrowed it to a pulse with the range on the pot. I would recommend this mod to someone looking for more control in the lfo section of their Bad Stone.

From more testing there is now a throbbing noise coming through at the minimum resistance setting for the pot. Adding back the 470 ohm resistor in series with the pot makes it go away and still gives you extra sweep width. Any thoughts?

After more tweaking and experimenting I've implemented a mod that opens up the versatility of the bad stone. It involves having a rotary switch to change the point at which the feedback occurs in the phase shift stages. I cut the trace linking c11 and r39 to IC2,pin 7 and r32. Then I connected the c11/r39 point to the selector of the rotary switch. Each output of the 6 opamps are then selected by the switch. This makes the sound go from 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 phase shift stage sounds.

I haven't simulated or tested this in any fashion and I'm not keen on how it's done but it's the simplest way I can think of and best you'll get out of me. B100k might not be the best value to use.
