Absolutely love your work, well done. You need to start selling the PCBs though! :D

It would be interesting to see how a tuned ROG style circuit would stack up againts this.

Geez,this thing really rocks!!!.... :)

This would be perfect for anyone wanting to play Megadeth songs, very fat bottom end, great sounding highs, the mids are cool too,I've got to make one of these one day.... :)

Sounds great!

Nevertheless, I find ROG's emulations just as good with half the complexity.

if you say so. but, i don't think even the guys from ROG would even call their designs "emulators". more like "stompboxes based on...XXX", which aren't really meant to sound just like an amp. on the other hand, these things actually sound just like the amps they are based on. check out the curves, they speak for themselves. these circuits accomplish something that is pretty much impossible to do with FETs at 9v.

i do understand that that this is a rather complex design, and not any easy build- hardly something that your average DIYer could tackle in an evening- but it actually delivers the goods.

What's the chance of making this a single sided PCB project? It sounds awesome.

it is a single sided board. there are just some SMD parts on the solder side.

I was looking through all my spare parts trays at work, and found these, they are 2SK1119 Silicon N-Ch MOS Devices.... :)

I managed to find a Datasheet for these on the internet, according to the Datasheet, these are the specs :

Drain-Source Voltage =1000V

Drain-Gate Voltage =1000V

Gate-Source Voltage = +/- 20V

Drain Current (DC) =4A

Drain Current (Pulse) =12A

Drain Power Dissipation =100W

Channel Temperature +150 Degrees C

Storage Temperature Range = -55 To +150 Degrees C

I'm wondering if these devices would work in this pedal?.... :)

Here's a pic of them:

Yeah, but those 2SK1119 should still be capable of being biased so that they operate in the linear portion of their transfer curves, and then made to work as voltage amplifiers.... :)
