Hi all! Need help finding inductors for Bartolini NTMB - 150 mH , 78 - 80 Ohm DC resistance!
Appears it's rather hard to find this value!
Looked through all DiGI-Key site and found one but 300 Ohm DCR!
http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll
But even this one is not in stock!
Does anyone knows source for this specific inductor!
Any help is highly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
:)

Yes, but I have no time to experiment that's i am looking for ready to install ones!!
But for all that are interested here is good information to wind their own inductors!
Enjoy!

you know i may be wrong but i am pretty sure i found a 150mh inductor at rat shack awhile back but i didn't measure its dc resistance

You may find but the resistance doesn't match!

Hey gang...since im new to inductor values...umm

I have a uH chart but need a mH chart...

I have a handful of 470uH but I dont know what these would be good for..

these are totally useless for the bartolini circuit...cant find ANY thing close, even google shows nil.

seems like too much work just for 300mH. Maybe we have to do a gyrator.

What about something like this for midrange?

Brainstorm : The bartolinis are modules... why not make these as modules too? Duhhhh.. :slap: :block:

anybody looking for inductors, check out some modular relays, they all gravitate from 50 to 500 mH.
i just found one automotive which is 150 and another 24v relay which is just 310mH.

I have built that bartolini schematic with no good results for mid range whatever inductor i've tried: 3X100mH (high DCR), 2X150mH (high DCR), wah 500mH(low DCR, recalculating capacitors for corner frequencies),300mH high quality very low DCR (sowter). It seems that baxandall tone control didn't really worked for me with inductors, its too much interaction between the low and mid bands or not deep enaugh. Also I think gain stage is over complex with unnecessary resistors too.
But I have great success building ibanez eq schematic and using sowter custom made inductor (same inductance and taps as in Ampeg midrange circuitry ). All 5 corner frequencies sound very interesting ether cut or boost and its more than enough to me to get wide sound palette . I'm using it only for midrange. Also I tried Ampeg SVT 7 PRO midrange circuit by adding Ibanez gain section with very good results too.

Wilco and Bournes are 2 common and good sources for larger (mH range) inductors.

Reviving an old thread..I picked up a bunch of 150mH inductors with an average resistance of 220ohms.

Perhaps I can actually use these in something??
