Bought an old homemade multi-effect with the intention of tearing it apart and rehousing everything. Not sure what this gray cube is, though. It has 9v going to it but I'm not hearing any change in sound except in volume with the trimpot. Looks like it might have been glued down at some point. It has 4 wires: in, out, power, and ground.

So....what is the effect? Fuzz/distortion? Wah? or what? Soldering looks really crappy. U said this was "home made"?? How about some pics of the top/bottom/side etc?? Never seen anything like it.

It's basically a bunch of effects rehoused together. There's a Thomas Organ Wah, EH Deluxe Memory Man, EH Small Stone, Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer, and an Alembic Stratoblaster. The gray cube was connected in front of the Squeezer and just seems to be a boost.

Better picture of the extracted gray cube. Definitely looks like it was glued down at some point.

Glad you grabbed that! I kept looking at it...

When was the thing assembled? What's the most recent effect in there? Might give you a starting point onto what the cube was harvested from.

That's about it. It looks like there might be an additional wire that was cut really short. I'll have to hook something up to it and see if it does anything.

I'm guessing late 1970s or early 1980s. I think the most recent thing in there was the Deluxe Memory Man which was dated 1978.
