Is a cousin of the Applied/Kadent/Goya pedals.
I wonder who was the secret builder behind all this stuff.

Boris & AG - Check out this U.M.I. Buzz Tone schematic. There are some similarities between this and the Guild FW-3 fuzz section. I am leaning toward the FW-3 being the same circuit as U.M.I unit since AG pointed out the schematic I posted is incorrect. With a little rearranging the FW-3 schematic can be made to look nearly identical to the U.M.I..

There are actually some pretty good gut shots at discofreq's site: http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model/guild/fw3
and more component side from the Nomad Fuzz Wah: http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model/nomad/fuzzwah

Yes, please enlighten us. Is the fuzz wrong or is it the wah? Or both?
I'm tracing mine out now.

Here's what I ended up with after tracing mine out. LMK if you see any problems and I'll get it fixed.

Funny how the numbers of wrong schematics increase, even when the mistakes are obvious.
BTW, the Guild FW-3 NEVER has been made by Shin-ei, instead it was made by APPLIED AUDIO (should be even written on the track side).
@theehman
could you solve the problems with the Rogue Fuzz ?

No, I just threw the Rogue aside for the moment.
My error on the Shinei thing. Can you point me to any other errors on the schematic so I can double-check it?

I didn´t control everything yet, but the 220k at the input of the wah section is wrong and should be 56k instead. The 10n feedback-cap shouldn´t be connected to the base, instead it should be connected to the junction between the 1k5 and the coil.

You're right about the 18n feedback cap but on my unit it does have the 220k at the wah input, not 56k. It seems to vary as I've traced out a couple of Guild wahs and found 68k and 100k in that spot.

It looked like the one on the original Guild schematic, with a few parts differences. The wah was completely different, though.jrod wrote:Can't wait to see how your trace comes out, ehman!
Did the fuzz section look anything like schem I posted?

@theehman - did you end up finishing tracing out the schem? I have a friend who want s a clone of the fuzz section only - was it comparable to the UMI fuzztone schem posted above at all?
Cheers,

Soooooo... i have just been "donated" one of these. It's in pretty poor condition. most definately not in working order. definately some components missing
I'll get some guts up if anyone is interested, but it seems pretty well documented already.
how does this guy sound?
anyone got any sound samples?
I'm wondering whether it is worth trying to get this puppy running again, or if I should gut it, and put something else in there (thinking maybe a superfuzz clone, with either a chicken salad or a wah...)
