Combination of a wah with a very fiendly sweep, a fuzz that's not worth mentioning and an oscillator of which the frequency can be swept across the audible spectrum with the threadle. Takes a lot of effort to get something musical out of it. The Japanese fx desigfners of the seventies and therefore Fumio Mieda who designed the thing, interpreted the meaning of "multi effect" al little different

Again, now we really need a :coffeeouttamymouh: kind of smiley.
And cleaning up all that mess again will surely take up more time than taking some detailed pcb pic (traces), I'm sure our friend Boris will kindly help tracing.

I don't know about anyone else, but that sounds to me like the 'Traveler' control is just boosting the resonance of a twin-t filter into self oscillating (ie, Colorsound Inductorless wah).
If you boost the resonance on a colorsound wah, you'll get that exact sound, so maybe that helps alleviate the pain a little ;)

EDIT: http://www.beavisaudio.com/Projects/Col ... /index.htm

On that schem, if you make R7 smaller, it will start to self oscillate.

Interesting pedal...as soon as I saw the 'traveler' button it made me think of
the old Korg VCF pedal (which I've had a few of over the years...great pedal)

Sure enough I Googled 'Keio Korg' and got heaps o' stuff..
Keio is the early name of Korg (as Acetone is to Roland)
I feel silly not knowing this as I once had a full set of Korg PS series modular polyphonic synths!
(including Klaus Shultze's original Korg prototype of the PS-3300)

Anyway, I don't know if there's a thread for the Korg VCF pedal...there should be!

Cheers, squatch

Not exactly..
Acetone was founded by Ikutaro Kakehashi. Problem was he spend too much time on the technical side instead of management and was too late to discover that the majority of the company's shares were no longer his. After that he steped out of Acetone and founded Roland.

I suggest reading Kakehashi's biography "I believe in music". It's a very interesting read and it will grow a respect for Kakehashi as a man with vision and more important, a lot of guts.

As an example,
Kakehashi got three months from his component suppliers to pay his bills.
This meant that freshly started Roland with no product line at all had 3 months for full development, production and sales of a product line . Compare that with "it took 5 years to develop" from a boohtweaker with a fuzzface ripoff.
Sorry. Plain out of planes.

Lucky you guy, all the PS series  !!!

But really to my ears, the Traveller pedal is not as interesting as the Jacques Singing Geisha...
http://www.jacquesstompboxes.com/geishaultimate.htm

Anyway (sorry if it's slightly OT) here is a redraw of the old Keio VCF chip by M. Colin Fraser. As you know it is the heart of the VCF Pedal (for which we may start a new thread?)

Thanks Dirk, I'd love to read that book, I love Roland gear..most reliable gear on the planet
Zokk wrote: Lucky you guy, all the PS series  !!!
Yeah Zokk it was nice having the mega synth collection...
Unfortunately I lost most of it 'cos of a stupid court case
I managed to hold onto a 28 module Digisound system and a Roland 104 k'board though..heh

Cheers, squatch
