D*A*M PROJECT V
These guys have never heard about this place apparently.
Pictures are nice and sharp but how handy is mr Graham with the screwdriver? Some full frontal nude pcb pics would be nice.

I think Im being confused with this other Graham again.
The Graham in question is a serious vintage fuzz collector who owns (amongst many others) a BB Buzzaround.

Im the Graemey who posted the Buzzaround pics on this forum. Im also the (blonde)graemey who does the youtube videos.

Its an easy mistake to make! not to many Graham/Graeme's who own a Buzzaround :)

Schematic for Eno's Project WEM Fuzz?

What kind of fuzz box do you have?
I have a great one. It's very old. It's called a Project WEM. I've never seen another one. But it's a lovely fuzz box. It's been used by many famous guitar players, because they say it's got a unique sound. People have actually tried to make copies of it. They took down all the components and tried to build another one, but they never really got quite the same thing. I've used it on all my records, actually, from the first record I made. Whenever you hear my particular fuzz guitar sound, that's the fuzz box. Sometimes what sounds like guitar is really synthesizer or vice versa....

first of all, just a heads up- your link doesn't work.

are you talking about the WEM Project V? if so, there is already a thread here-
viewtopic.php?f=19&t=3990&p=43570&hilit ... t+V#p43570

and finally, YES! i would very much like to see a schematic!

I have this schematic for the related Rush PEP fuzz. (Disclaimer -- I have never built it so I don't know what it's like, or if it's the same as the different WEM variations.)

PEP Fuzz just looks like an FZ-1a

I think the Pep Fuzz is more FZ-1 than 1A - schem should be 3V. I built one - see first couple of posts on my blog (which should be in my sig now...)

Nice blog.

Reason why I said FZ-1a is because of the 10K on Q2's Collector, but I see your point... it's kind of a cross between the two with some different coupling cap values. Probably just arrived on something that worked with the common transistors available.

Incidentally, I just built an FZ-1 for a friend, and I was really surprised at how good it sounded. I need to build one for myself now!

Thanks - I should update it more, but it's too much like work.

I built an FZ-1 a while back, but with yet another wrong schematic (this time by Jack Orman, with one collector resistor value hugely wrong) and it was very weak with -3V - it sounded good with -9V (and lower gain trannies) though
So yeah, I've got a proper FZ-1 on the way too as soon as I get my pedals back and I can swap that one out. Got some 2N270s too.
I think now we've got a corrected schem this circuit could have a new lease of life.

The original germanium version was called "FUZZY" was made to compete with the Maestro pedals. I have built it on perf using NKT 213's and the pedal sounds killer. I followed this schematic; http://musical-den.blogspot.com/2008/07 ... -fuzz.html
