Well, my nephew decided to take up guitar.
He bought himself a guitar.
Now he wants an amp, and he asked me if I had any extra amps I could sell him.
I figured I would fix one of the broken ones I have and just give it to him.
Maybe charge him for any parts that I may have to buy.

I have 2 extra broken amps....
A Laney Hardcore Max HCM15B (I'm guessing its a bass amp).
A Ventura Vintage 50.
He is interested in learning some blues and slow classic rock stuff.
I figure the Ventura is better suited for that than the Laney.

Now, I'm trying to find a schematic for the Ventura.
I already have one for the Laney, but so far have not been able to find one for the Ventura.

Anyone out there have the schematic for the Ventura Vintage 50 or a link to one?

Thanks a bunch

I would go with which is the easiest to repair. The Laney will probably be fine as a starter guitar amp, he is going to be far too busy trying to play to worry about "tone".

Post some gut shots of the Ventura, someone may recognise it.

Probably a "standard" solid-state amplifier with a dual op-amp, two leds for clipping and a TDA2030 as a power amp.

It uses a LM1875T as the power amp (20 Watts). Less than $3 from Mouser.
My guess is that's what failed.
At least the SS amps I have repaired in the past, the majority of the time it was the power amp chip that died.

It looks very simple and basic so I'll be fine just tracing it.

So as predicted we´ve got the typical arrangement of 2 dual opamps, 2 LEDs for clipping and an LM1875 - which is the pin compatible counterpart to the TDA2030.
