New DIY delay with modulation.

Hi people.
I'm pleased to introduce this fantastic unit of delay with compander, pt2399 based, with the LFO of one well known pedal, boss CE-2. I found it in a Italian web, the proyect has Creative Commons licence, so ts free for all DIY community.

This is my finished unit, don't joke, the sound is more similar than apears.
Sorry about the poor quality of the shots, it's night here. And sorry for my bad english.
The schematic is verified.

and the through hole side too please... I couldn't read on the schematic what the compander chip is

It's the usual NE or SA 571. You'll get very slightly better performance with a 570.rocklander wrote:and the through hole side too please... I couldn't read on the schematic what the compander chip is
The 570/1 is still available from On Semiconductor.

Is there a way to switch the modulation off?
I would switch the 47uF cap between ground and LFO out, but I'm afraid of damaging the PT2399.
What do you guys think?

Looks like a well thought out design. Im a little curious about how you have inserted the modulation signal on pin 2 of the 2399.. if i remember it correctly this is the Vref of the unit, right?
Have not seen that method of doing it before. Is it your idea or have you been inspired by another design?
Thank you

Soundwave design draw the schematic of this modulated delay (link in the first post of this 3D)
I'm quite sure they took the idea from the "little angel" chorus published at DIYStompboxes; and that would explain the "archangel" name.
The LFO comes from the Boss CE2 chorus.
I don't know how LFOs are usually interfaced with the audio path, so I can't answer your question about pin2-Vref. I'm studying LFOs these last days because I want to better understand this circuit as well (and also because I'd like to increase the depth range).
This circuit works well as it is anyway.
Here are two links to other examples of the LFO being interfaced with Vref of PT2399; at the moment I'm experimenting with a PT80 delay and these LFOs on the breadboard:

Ok thanks for the info. Maybe I should hook my function generator up to all sorts of pins and see what it does
Edit: An oscillator that i've been using a couple of times is the one that bajaman uses in his trembulator, try it out:
