Let me suggest you the next scenario.

Set the delay based on specific tempo : 1/4 ; 3/16 ; etc ( the DIVIDE function in Memory Boy )
You need to add a pot (or better a rotary switch) and upgrade the sketch.

Anyway, I never used such TAP tempo.

Always wandered ... how do you map the value of the pot to actual time, as far as i know there is no relation in the DS.
