Hello, I wanted to know if it's possible to add manually tags like [documentation] [schematic] or [traced] to my topic title. The simple reason being is that I often post the [documentation] right in my first message, but I didn't find a way to add the colorful clickable link to the title myself. BBcode doesn't show properly in the title and I even ran out of characters. Usually a moderator or the admin himself swoops in and adds it in little time, but I wanted to save them the work if I could.

that's what I assumed so far, but if that's not the case I don't want to be rude and leave the work to someone else.

Yes, only mods are able to do it. That's simply because it has to be from the administration interface.

The tags are specific to the forum where they are used. Basically they are links to a certain post deemed representative to the topic or containing the most information related to the topic. It can be any post, not just the first.

So you're definitely not rude if you let mods to do this. Actually, not adding anything to the title is the best option, since it will be removed anyway.

I understand the need for more control and customizability. One should keep in mind that the topic title does not accept anything but text. Everything else appearing next to the title is glued by the theme or the extensions. So if you think of some modification that you feel it is useful, let us know about it and we'll look for something able to do the job.

Thanks. I really appreciate the tags in letting you find relevant information in a thread and admire everyone doing the work of checking new posts and adding them. I had collected what you said about them from experience.
As far as suggestions, maybe a way to flag messages for the allowed tags, so that mods just have to approve them instead of finding and adding them manually? Not that it's not done quickly already, just to make things easier.

Only one year and almost 5 months later , it occured to me that we could use the reporting system. I added an Add the "Topic Solved" link to the reported post type report.
Click on the exclamation sign button in the toolbar at the top of the post to report. It should work.

Thanks! Reporting myself feels odd, but it's simple and effective, I'll try it. Thanks again to you and everyone else manually keeping up with the tags.
