Not much on this yet, but I will get to it as time allows. Here's at least a gut shot. There are three boards and two transformers. More later.

That is an impressive cram.

Closer look... I count at least three PCBs, possibly 4 (the pots seem further from the mainboard than I'd expect)

I believe the small PCB between the switches handles the audio mixing while all the modulation circuitry is on the main PCB with the pots, leds, and mode switch. Probably one of the more impressive builds on the market right now. Its like artwork in there.

Looks to me like the thin bit of material between the largest board and jacks has a ground wire soldered to it. Probably a bit of shielding to cut down on crosstalk between the audio and oscillator boards.

I think thats actually just a side benfit. The little blank board is in all the sequencer pedals to keep the floating PCB with the pots from moving around or shorting against the jacks and battery. It may function as a shield but the wire is probably there just as much to keep it from falling out and disappearing when people change the battery.

ZVex uses 9mm alpha pots in all his pedals. They are available from mouser, smallbear, etc...
