D*A*M - Ezekiel 25:17 [traced]
I am cross posting this from diystompboxes.com where I posted earlier today.
After looking pretty thoroughly through the web, the only picture I could find of the component side of the Ezekiel 25:17 was at Bassfuzz.com.
It looks like the IC used is a TI RC4558P. I am not familiar with the Tube Screamer circuit, but maybe a sharp eye or two could discern if the component choice and values are similar excluding what I would believe to be larger coupling capacitors for enhanced bass response. The distortion-type selection appears to be done by selecting different types of diodes/LED's and tone shaping capacitors with the selector switch at the output of the circuit.
And a few others:
And a good high-res (4.4MB) but of a different pedal:

If anyone knows someone that has some high-res pictures or has the pedal and is willing to take a few photos, I as well as a few others I am sure, would love to take a crack at reversing this pedal.

I had one for a while a couple years a go, sounded like a modded rat with different clipping options to me. I don't have any pics but I'm guessing it's a rat with the reverse tone/filter control. Was a cool pedal though, just not worth what market value was.
I've been looking for this too.
This makes at least four different build variations that I have seen while investigating this thing. It appears that the selector switch is directly soldered to the board in this instance. The potentiometers could also be. If there was a top view of this board, we would have it. I have some ideas on a similar pedal that would have similar traits to the Ezekiel but with a different tone stack and added buffers. I don't know exactly what the gain arrangement is for the Ezekiel but I still think that it is a re-voiced Tube Screamer circuit minus diode feedback.

Why are you still thinking Tube Screamer? The lack of feedback diodes, replaced instead by diodes after the opamp indicates Rat-style drive to me. That combined with the control labeled Filter (which acts exactly like the Filter knob on a Rat; that is to say opposite of convention for tone controls) and the overall sound (just watch the BassFuzz.com demo) points to Rat in my opinion. All of the sounds the Ezekiel makes can be done with changes to the diodes (which is what the rotary appears to be).stadams wrote:This makes at least four different build variations that I have seen while investigating this thing. Yeah I'm also guessing its a Rat, basing by how the fourth mode is called Super Rat lol. There used to be some great in-detail pictures of the guts on Mr Picards gallery, but those have been removed. I remember there were some options for LED clippers, a single opamp JFET based, and some different cap size options for overdrive/distortion ect.

That setting is "Super Fat" on all of the versions I've seen. Just a very curly fancy font.TheLemon wrote:Yeah I'm also guessing its a Rat, basing by how the fourth mode is called Super Rat lol.
