Anybody got this thing traced? Schematics, ideas? :hmmm:

Maybe it's some kind of darlington fuzz with added diode clipping?

Here's some gut shots.

I was gonna way back but got lazy. Those are better pics than what I had so take a shot at it. I think I remember reading it's just a buffer followed by a cascade amplifier.

Yeah that's pretty much I had. I had the base and collector legs swapped on Q3 on mine so maybe double check that. It makes more sense schemo wise with them swapped. I also noticed on the guts I had there was an extra 100K resistor. Maybe it got moved underneath or dropped eventually? On the schemo it's with the dashed lines. I'll attach the old gut shots I had. There were a few different part values too, those have asteric next to them.

I updated my files since someone else showed interest. I drew a rough schemo. All the numbered circles are turrets with the appropriate connections as seen. I laid it out as I guessed the circuit would work. There numbered to make for easy discussion, legend will be attached as well. That'll also make updating the schematic easier if I seen shit wrong.

I'm guessing turrets 1 & 15 are linked below the board. As well as 9, 11 & 8. 10 will be in the input and 16 the output. As far as the controls go.... Level is probably just a volume pot on the output, I'm guessing the gain control is a voltage divider between turret 7 & 6. Not sure on the Tone pot.

Also with the cap to ground on the tone pot, it's probably just a simple filter stuck on around the volume control. Too bad there aren't better shots of the wiring.

I would swap the collector and base legs on the transistor in the lower row. The gain 1 wire should be probably be gain 3. If you look at the gain pot you can see a 390R resistor going from Lug 1 to ground hence stopping the pedal from going quiet when turned all the way down. The metal film resistor in that spot on the newer boxes looks like 100R but I can't confirm that.

I think I got a good idea on everything now. I'll post a rough schemo in a minute.

This is still very unverified but with info at hand, here's how I see it all laid out. Should be in the same ballpark. After looking at the control closer you can see that lug 2 goes to lug 3 on volume. With the cap to ground off lug 1 I'm guessing it's the same tone control from the Sonic Samurai. No idea on pot values, maybe try Sonic Samurai values as well. The 100K might of been omitted on later versions. Breadboard it up, see if it sounds right.

Sonic Samurai schemo is at...

Looks good. So who wants to bust out the breadboard?

Hello Skinpimp, Did you build some tube amps in the past, if so what kinda schematic did you use ?
