A simple tubescreamer. It sickens me to know that these sell for over $400.

Reading the reviews. Some people are stoked with both the pedal and the customer service. Many of the purchasers ordered over the phone, and they were still happy when they got it.

I say - Good luck if they can make a living from selling whatever it is.
I know plenty guitarists who just want to play guitar - they don't give a rat's arse what is inside their pedal - as long as it works when they plug their gat in - or as Frank Zappa said "shut up and play yer guitar"

We on the other hand are here to leach, learn and share knowledge and skills. Oh Yes - some of us play guitar as well, but I think this is another topic for another day  - Rock On :D

A modded Tubescreamer-clone for > $ 550,-- on evilbay:
https://cgi.ebay.com/LANDGRAFF-DYNAMIC- ... dZViewItem

If you don´t want to inwaste your money on that, you can have a look at some guts:

Somebody knows Gary Tamas ?

http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/viewima ... id=1752206
What happens if somebody steals the socketed 10k-mojo-carboncomp-resistor and replaces it with a normal 10k resistor ?
Jesus is Lord - GOD BLESS AMERICA !
And Captain SATAN save Europe from Landgraf´s (german: Land = country, Graf = earl... Landgraf = country-earl)

Here is the handwritten description so that you can learn how to modify and use a tubescreamer properly:

So the resistors are in sockets so people can mess with the "Tone Mod" kit or whatever that comes with it? I guess that makes sense, but it doesn't look like something I'd trust the average guitar player to stick his hands into without messing up... I mean, it's so cluttered! You'd need tweezers to change out those parts.

Overall, I don't think it's mojo enough. I plan on raising the mojo bar up a couple notches....

puuuuuhhh... i wonder about that inside look of thoses Landgrafffffff Pedals...

if i watch this.. i would think.... the Price of such Pedal has to be about 50 or 80 Bugs.... and that is pretty much !!!!!

ok... the paintings... rememvers me as i was a child.. my mother found a hobby and did some silk paintings and even a technique, that looked the same as those Pedalenclosures....
I hated those Paintings.. because my mother created tons of crap with this painting technique. Ties, bandanas and so on.... everywhere i saw it... *LOL*

but finally the customer satisfaction counts...

Cheers

The DOD is a very good sounding OD and this sound is mainly generated by the A-Bradley CCs, the SM and AVX caps.

Swap 2 of the AVX caps for XICON green caps and the 100p SM for a ceramic and it turns over into an average sounding TS-clone.

The Langgraff DOB is a 1:1 SHO clone but sounds different.
The circuit and part values are identical with the SHO but Langraff uses CCs instead of MF Rs, an AVX cap instead of the ML-caramic and a different electrolytic cap, the rest is identical.

A lot of DIYs overlook the influence of the part specs. when they cloning an FX-circuit wondering why it sounds nothing like the original.

Wow, you're risking some flamage here by suggesting that CC resistors have an impact on tone!
I won't flame you, though.
I was considering using AVX caps and CC resistors in a BSIAB2 build just for shits and giggles. What kind of tonal changes should one expect?
