Analogman - Chorus [traced]

There's several posts over at the BYOC forums that detail how to do this.
I've done the dual Rate and Depth controls with the BYOC kit more than a year ago... works well and very convenient. The Rotagilla wrote:There's several posts over at the BYOC forums that detail how to do this.

Thanks I found dual depth/rate mod. I'll try with PCB Tonepad made.
Is Analongman's Clone Chorus a ONLY clone of EH's Small Clone?

Here we don´t need to discuss much, because the "King of solder jockeys" himself confessed here:
http://www.analogman.com/clone.htm
that the Analogman Chorus is nothing else than a clone of a (small) clone.
anyway, here are some additional guts:

There´s a sucker born every minute - and too many of them end up in the bootweak pedal biz.

What are the changes he made to the Small Clone schematic? Or is it a 1:1 clone?

I've built several of these with the various mods out there. The only ones I found useful for my purposes were the depth knob and a mix control. The Small Clone is a great sounding chorus. My feeling is why muck with it?
As far as the Analogman chorus, there was a thread way back when where Mike stated that after comparing several units to the factory schematic there was a part that was different. He has never divulged what that part was. I used the factory Small Clone schematic and got great results.

IIRC, the wrong part was just a reversed transistor, the one that feeds in to the delay IC. It was shown with the collector to V+ when it should be to ground. The Rotagilla wrote:

I dont think it has ever been a secret that the AM clone chorus is a copy of the small clone.
Does anyone have the schematic to the Analogman Chorus?

Yes. It's a CE2.kimanistar wrote:Does anyone have the schematic to the Analogman Chorus?
All that's been done is to change the pre- and de-emphasis a bit and use more modern op-amps.
The results are just a slightly brighter output.

Apart from that it's a clone of a Small Clone.

The PCB looked quite like the "Pork Barrel", but was slightly bigger.

this is actually the first time i heard that 2.all along i thought it was a clone of the ehx small clone.mictester wrote:Not the one I mended recently.plesur wrote:

The Clone and the CE2 are quite close in concept, except that the BBD clock in the CE2 is the "official" MN3101 IC and EHX cheaped out by using CMOS. The CE2 uses transistor filtering (and more anti-alias filtering than the EHX) and the Clone uses an op-amp. The EHX Clone actually can produce some nasty alias artefacts that the CE2 never does.
The Analogman effort that I saw used a 3207 (not the "correct" 3007) and the MN series clock IC. It wasn't a particularly well built piece of gear, despite its high price!

i re-drawed schematic of analog man chorus (s/n ~3000), it's almost 99.9% Tonepad Small Clone , including Depth Pot , and Depth Switch idea.
Small difference is in mixer (2 resistors) that's all.
"legend is more important, than music", that's all about analog man, cap.
Cheers.

Hello
I'm interested in the Analogman Chorus circuit - I know that this is an EHX Small Clone circuit from the Tone Pad site, but it has minor changes, who is aware of these changes, what has Mike changed?
Also I'm interested in the following fashion
1) Mix - in the left position it is completely pure signal, in the right position it is a chorus (a variant with three modes, clean-chorus-vibrato is not interesting)
I understand that this should be in the mix section, R5 / R21 but how is it better to implement it?
As in the Boss CE-2B?
2) 2) Delay Time
As I understand it, the only option is to replace the R32 with a fixed resistor and a 100K potentiometer in the series with it?

FWIW, Analogman has stated that the original EH schematic (and ones that were based on it) contained errors. I've always meant to get around to tracing one out but life usually has other plans. Also keep in mind that he swore the King of Tone and Bigfoot/Fargen JW-40 drive circuit were original designs.
