Ya, I did one a long time ago. I prefer a 1590BB though just cause I don't like stand up resistors and prefer not to use 1/8w resistors unless I have to.

Mine was all 1206 size smd for the resistors and smd for the chips.

Oh hai!

I don't know about daily, but I do visit quite often :D

I didn't say anything in this thread as that may be considered whoring, but the Zombie klons are £90 and sorry I don't just sell the boards because unfortunately I don't have the time to answer the support emails I'd inevitably receive.

Still waiting to see a 1590a klon... I guess part of the challenge is sourcing a 9mm dual-ganged pot, I got the impression they aren't that common.

and of course, you could use a dual gang 16mm just for the gain pot and 9mm for the other two...

it's not on diystomp, but in the subforum of byoc.

awesome job! enclosure finish looks really good, too. To be fair, it's a mini klon, though, or MKC1.

Thanks! BTW it is really hard to believe these guys shoehorned this to a 1590A. Impressive indeed :block:

with all due respect, but that just doesn't look like fun to me. I just fucking hate cramming these things into tiny boxes. either go big, or go smd, AFAIC. besides, there's more room for mojo, and the little electronoidal machine elves get cranky when they are forced into such tight quarters.

I agree. I'm not a fan of 1590A stuff.

effieciency within my limitations.. I much prefer that than having stuff flop around like a cock in a sock.. plus stage room is always a premium.. get 8X 1590BB pedals and I may as well be a one man band cos there'll be no room for bass drums and a proper guitarist.

There are some options between 1590BB and 1590A, ya know. :thumbsup

But I do understand the appeal to having tiny pedals. I just don't enjoy building them.

For most dirt/fuzz, it makes a ton of sense. But a lot of the other effects I like rarely fit in tiny packages.

Wow, I was just being a smart-ass about the 1590A thing. That's cool, but a little much for me too.

I really admire when somebody takes the challenge of cram a complex pedal in a 1590A... and wins
