Another TS circuit with a clean blend.
Thank you to Torchy for helping me sort through the schem!!

Please anyone has schematic of this layout? Value of resistors do not math with this schematic: http://home.hetnet.nl/~chrisdus/download/VLSD.jpg

Previous links are dead. Is this layout checked /verified ?

Thank you very much. Sorry my bad english.

I think you missed the connection to Vb where the two halves of the blend pot join (A lug 3 and B lug 1).

Torchy's vero layout is missing the values for R15 and R16??
Any clues please?

My lazy butt has just done it's own research: they seem to both be 10k.

Let you know if the layout works soon...

Okay...

Just finished my build of this vero layout and noticed a few errors:

The connection marked VOLUME 2&1 should read VOLUME 2&3
The connection marked VOLUME 3 should read VOLUME 1

The Tone control didn't work so I had a closer look:
The connection marked TONE 1 should read TONE 3
The connection marked BLEND (A)1 should read TONE 1
The correct position of CLEAN BLEND (A)1 should be to the left of the cut directly below R11 (I think!!!)

I worked this out by checking the layout against the schematic that is also provided.
Now the Volume control works with a correct clockwise rotation and the Tone control works but is quite subtle, not as much tonal change as I expected??

Please, please check the above and tell me if all is now right with the circuit, or have I missed anything else.
This layout is allmost verified.
The pedal sounds great but Im sure the tone control isn't quite there yet :hmmm:

For anyone interested...

The vero layout has another problem: the pinout on U1 (4558) is wrong.

I got my hands on a Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive in compared it to my build.

Pins 123 should be pins 765. Pins 765 should be pins 123. :(

Compare the schematic below the vero layout to the one posted near the start of this thread.
I will have to rearrange the vero layout and scrap the old board. Be aware of this and the above post if you want to tackle this project.
If any of you guys have a second, please take a look at both schematics and confirm that there is a problem with the vero layout, I would appreciate a 2nd opinion.

I made mine using DIY italia layout. Did not tested yet (I'm finalizing painting of enclosure). Transistor was inverted in that layout.

Douuhhh! Just dawned on me, it's a dual opamp. That wouldn't make any difference. Douuhhh!
Please ignore the above! :slap: :slap: :slap: :slap:

IT DOESN'T MATTER!!! The "sides" of the 4558 have two identical op-amps. It doesn't matter at all if you use the left one first, or the right one (though I'm sure some "Golden-Eared Capacitor Chooser" will tell you different.

I've built the Sparkle Drive using MarkM's layout.it worked the first time, but there's this one issue.....the level of the distorted signal is weak, compared to the clean signal.if the pot is turned full counter clockwise the overdriven signal is ok,but when it is tuned clockwise the clean signal has a tremendous amount of clean boost. Is there any way that i can have unity in terns of overdriven level and clean level? I have checked for solder joints and it seems to be ok. I used a 20k linear for my tone control,do you guys think that this is causing my overdriven signal to have a volume drop?

is markm's layout verified?.. just comparing the schem and the layout it seems like its not correct.

Does anyone have updated guts pics? The links are all dead. The pcb board that the pots connect to broke on mine and I need a guide to direct wire the pots to the ribbons can anyone help?

Thanks

I've breadboarded this a few times and I never get the blend pot to work well to my ears.

I'm starting to think that the Blend pot should be MN taper and not Linear.
