Hi,
link to the tube-ish distortion:
https://www.diystompboxes.com/pedals/sc ... panova.pdf
Just change : D1-12V Zener,C2-4u7, C4-47nF,C7-47nF,add resistor 47k between Drive 1 and Gnd,R15-15k,C13-33nF,R16-3k9
Q1-D=5.17V,G=0V, S=0.825V
Q2-D=6.58V, G=6.58V,S=0.482V
Q3-D=7.27V , S=0.271V
Q4-B=7.28V,E=6.64V, C=9.05V
Enjoy .

Hi Box,

did you select the J201 Fets for this circuit?

Hi,
no I didn't select. Just adjust value of the voltage.

Thanks. :thumbsup
How much influence does including that C10-R10 really have?
Sorry. Plain out of planes.

I have the same question. R10 seems like it's not correct, 10meg is way too high. Seems like 10k would make more sense.

Guys,
if do you compare original schematic and some changes you can notice that C10-R10 left without any change.
Always you can experiment to choose the best sound for you.

Hi Box,

thanks!
How did you make the setting, by listen to achive the best overdrive sound
or e.g. by oscilloscop to get a symmetrical clipping?

Manfred

Hi Manfred,
You are wlcme. Please try first to follow voltage adjustment but if you are not happy with this next step to achive the best overdrive sound.

Hi Box,

thanks again!

The frist step will be to build the device,
then I will follow the setting procedure as you recommended.

Uuh,
Scuse me for being ignorant and apparently at a wrong wavelength and somehow missing something. What I see is a .pdf with a schem and build instructions. Therefore;
- which original schematic?
- which "some changes"

And asking questions on questionnable parts of a circuit does not mean "can I experiment?" It means "What was you motivation for doing this?".
Sorry. Plain out of planes.

Hi,
original schematic is the one in the first post pdf and build instruction. My modification some of the components it's mention below the link.
If schematic was already published on the net I can't see any restriction to modify and motivation is always the same "to achieve sound according
my requirement"- similar to D*mble.
Most important that there is no claim that it's my design .Demo it's very close sound what I get it .
I hope so that no more explaination is required :D

OK I' get it now.
Bottom line is that apparently Nagy published this design and so far nobody (googled) ever wondered about this oddity in the circuit.
Or is this one of these add-on's in hope to be one of these "and I added bullshit to the design and they just copied it in their clone" bullshitters?

Hi,

have a look at the article there:
http://runoffgroove.com/fetzervalve.html
The article contains a Vp and Idd measuring circuit.
at the end of the page apears an online JFET stage calculator
to determine the stage parts values depends on Vp and Idd.
