I don't think they know how to change trace width in whichever CAD software they use (probably PADS for DOS).selfdestroyer wrote:unnecessary tiny traces for the win!
Seriously, who the fuck would do this instead of the red route?!

Anyway, here's an overlay and straightened/aligned images:

...but no clipping diodes. So it's BMP Q1 ->BMP sustain control -> another BMP Q1 -> two odd switchable quasi-BMP tone stacks->BMP Q4.
I can't visualise what the tonestacks would do as drawn: The normal lug 3 to ground resistor is missing, and instead the wiper is tied to lug 1 (i.e. 82n to ground) via that second 220k resistor. If the 220k went from lug 3 to ground, it would give an extremely scoopy, but fairly narrow sweep -

The 220k is a feedback path......
The tone control should more work like a filter on one side of the potmeter and a pass through on the other.

the filter is based off a twin T filter, with only one adjustable leg.. A twin T should give a notch response, however in this configuration it produces a tilt response..
This pedal is based off the current production dba fuzz war (big muff), the third stage is omitted (the one with the clipping diodes) and some values have been tweaked..

Uggh. Every time I see guts of their pedals, I just can't help but wonder what fuckwad thinks that's even remotely acceptable, especially for the prices they charge.

Ah yes, now I see the twin T filter. Wouldn't it be easier to put the potmeter between the cap and groundGlass_Hero wrote:the filter is based off a twin T filter, with only one adjustable leg.. A twin T should give a notch response, however in this configuration it produces a tilt response..

Necrobump..
Anyone build one of these? I built one using the main page layout from Tagboard which from what I can tell matches the above schematic.
These DBA layouts only work sometimes, I tried a few different transistors but it gates pretty bad and doesn't seem like any of the videos. I was curious if anyone who built one had suggestions on which components they swapped to get it to work haha
