Way Huge - Fat Sandwich [traced]

Hello all!
I've just finnished a clone of Way Huge Fat Sandwich using the Harald Sabro's layout from here: https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic ... 4&start=40.
It sounds good, except the Resonance pot which sounds strange at the extremes, but in the video of Jim Dunlop it acts OK. And Jim says that it's a mid control!
Can anyone verify the schematic around the Resonance part (https://www.freestompboxes.org/download/ ... &mode=view) or to post some good gutshots?
It's a very good overdrive, anyway...
Thank you very much!

Thank you very much LaceSensor!!! You're a fantastic man! Thank you very much!
For the MOSFET I used a 2N7000 (like in Pork Loin), so it's OK. The clipping LEDs are transparent (I didn't know that), but I don't think that's a real problem.
As I can observed from your pictures, the pin 1 of the resonance pot (marked with a blue arrow in the picture below) seems to me that is not connected directly to the ground, as the schematic says. The problem is that I can't see for sure where this pin is connected, but I think that it would be directly grounded
Anyway, I will study the pictures very carefully later.
Thanks a lot again!

That is a zero ohm resistor connected to ground, so yes, it does go directly to gnd...

In this case, I need some time to recheck the schematic around the Resonance pot...I don't have much experience in tracing
Best regards!

the clipping LEDs are 3mm clear orange
they dont get very bright at all then clipping
Hope that helps

Any information helps...I will replace the LEDs as soon as I will buy some orange clear 3mm, but I think that it's not a problem.
The main problem remains the Resonance pot...it acts strange (one sound until 7-8 o'clock, another tone from 9 to 15-16 o'clock and the third tone over 16 o'clock), but I think that's the way it works...in the demo I saw that it sounds almost like my clone
Anyway, I will recheck the schematic from your images, but it's hard for me...but that's the way I will learn to trace from photos
Best regards!

hi
the way you describe the pot is how mine works, pretty much.
two different sounds at either extreme CW and CCW, then a lot of similar sound for most of the actual travel of the pot.
im not that inspired by it!

Hi, LaceSensor!
It's clear for me now that's the way in which the Resonance pot works. I like very much the Pork Loin, so I hoped that the Fat Sandwich is so good, too.
Anyway, if you want, we can try to make a trade
Best regards and many thanks!

~Ive got most of the way huge pedals
the fat sandwich is ok, just the resonance pot I dont really feel its that great.

Yes, you're right LaceSensorLaceSensor wrote:~Ive got most of the way huge pedals

I like very much their pedals too...I think that Pork Loin it's a fabulous overdrive, while Ring Worm and Supa Puss are on my wish list from a long time
Thank you very much again!

the ring worm isnt true bypass and bleeds but its fun
supa puss is a good analog tap delay, modulation on it is excellent

i produced the original traced schematic of the Fat Sandwich, and yeah the resonance pot is a little funny. I love the FS so much that I then picked up the Pork Loin. I find the PL is trickier to dial in, mostly because of the mixing of the two paths.

Hey guys,
finding the gain too compressed and the high end too biting. Has anyone done some mods that would recommend to this pedal??
i think I would be interested in putting in a switch to take off 2nd stage from the circuit. Perhaps replacing the diodes?

What are you waiting for? Approval? Just experiment... by taking out R11 (removing hard clipping diodes)fusionid wrote:i think I would be interested in putting in a switch to take off 2nd stage from the circuit. Perhaps replacing the diodes?
