Hi there,

I just found this pedal: http://blackouteffectors.com/ ... the FIX'D FUZZ. Sounds somewhat interesting, maybe anyone has some informations?

4 transistors stages ... first thought: BMP. After reading the manual my guess is a tonebender with an added BMP-style tone-control including the last transistor-stage of the BMP.

But maybe someone knows more about it?

.... Timm

It's a monster of a fuzz/boost and a very challenging build. Without going into too much detail before it's released, it's a very versatile small box (1590B) with a bypassable boost (that gets a little od grit at higher settings) which can then cascade into either the 1st fuzz circuit or the 2nd (different) fuzz circuit OR BOTH. Plus some other nice little surprises. Need I say more about it's versatility?

it's pretty cool how it switches sections in and out like that. you think the sections are paraellel or series? what's the best way to do this?

Hi All. Feeling adventurous today and getting off of my HCEF couch.

I'm happy to answer any questions (as long as that's not considered too spammy = not my intention).

Welcome!
I have a question; in the description of the Musket Fuzz, you make reference to another fuzz called the Civil War. What can you tell us about that; is it an earlier fuzz you no longer make? Something based on any of the existing circuit memes we see often?

The Civil War was a nickname given to the the very first Russian Big Muffs due to the blue/gray colour scheme. These preceded the green Russian muffs. The Musket Fuzz is going to have an (improved) stock mode and a higher-gain mode.

In the end, this turned out to not be true. The Musket ended up as a six-knob muff variant.

Could you tell me something about the 'focus'-knob?

Sure. The focus knob is an input cap blend for the muff part of the circuit.

Great, thanks!
So I guess the the 'pre'-knob is an extra boost-stage in front of the BMP?

What type of fuzz is the second fuzz? It sounds rather cool. Is it a clone or similar to another standalone pedal?
