Hey all, Joe from GBE here.
Found this Barber Edge Hog on Reverb, seems like a pretty under-the-radar pedal.
Did a video on it for my YT channel. Sound samples, gutshots, similar schematics, etc.
Basically a Rat with germanium diodes and a second opamp stage for the bass control.

In case anyone wants a visual representation of the edge hog's bass control:

Did you ever figure out what was in that little gray bundle attached to the "Edge" pot?

I breadboarded this off your schematic and get a high pitched whine in BYPASS when "Hog" is cranked up to pretty much max and "Edge" is adjusted. Does this happen on the original pedal?

Isn't that resistor attached between pins 2 and 3 on "Hog" a 200k, not a 20k?

This thing sounds awesome, I'd just love to get rid of that whine! Thanks for the great work on this!

Those are the hard clipping diodes, any germanium diodes should work fine.
Hog parallel resistor is definitely 20K.
Whine could just be a by-product of breadboard. Gotta put it in an enclosure.

Very nice work Joe! I've been watching the teardown videos more and more. These are great, thank you!

I drew up a vero layout for this circuit in case someone wants to try it out. Unverified at the time of posting this.
