Maybe he is just saving money by leaving off the goop?

Thanks for the work on this pedal, the recording sounds great and I look forward to putting one of these together!

You could be right.. does it light up ? (not that that's proof that it's not clipping if it doesn't, but I guess it would be proof that it is ?)
Crank all up, play hard and put DMM to diodes place to see if the voltage exceeds the diode clipping stage. If it does, the diode has some meaning, right?

I've never been able to get LEDs to light when they are in a feedback loop. They light up easily between signal and ground, however.

For example, in a Tubescreamer, LEDs make a noticeable difference vs no diodes, but they don't light up. At least in none I have observed.

Don't be so cynical! These are built with an automated process. That means you get more reliablity at a lower price!!
Sorry. Plain out of planes.

How sure are you that C8 connects to the junction of R17 and R18?
I cannot see a connecting trace on any of the photos unfortunately.
It does share a lot of design features (and parts values) with the MP Dyna Red and BJF Honey Bee though.
cheers

I am wondering if C1 is really only 4n7, simply because the BJF - Honey Bee uses a 47n in this position.

There´s a sucker born every minute - and too many of them end up in the bootweak pedal biz.

Only meant it as a (not very good) joke referring to the huge amount of goop on ibodog2's pedal, no cynicism or bias towards surface mount design implied.

Yes!!That's right!
Now, it is not at hand. My friend is analyzing the circuit!!

Ummm.I see...

Thank you!!

Sorry for the late replies
I 'm glad that you were able to complete it :D !!!

>Kuu_uni, when you receive the pedal from your friend, could you tell us the marked capacitor values? I can see some of them from your photos, but not all of them.
>>Okay! I will try too! For accurate schematic!

thanks!

Do I have this right:
The layout is verified, some of the cap values still are not?

btw: Great work, folks!!!

That´s all? I´ll order the parts tomorrow! :D

Maybe it could be interesting to add a "Voice" control, similar to the one in the Zendrive:

I can already see a few potential mods to this one. The actual "Focus" control - I used something like this in my Hummingbird overdrive which I published about a year ago - I would maybe up this from 50 to 100KB, it'll make the pedal slightly brighter and add a slight amount of top end gain and fizz when set to a higher value. Also a focus/zendrive bass control (as roseblood says) on the first opamp stage to allow frequency response in this stage to be fiddled (add a 10k pot with a r17 at maybe 470 or 220 ohm). Maybe reduce r11 to a slightly lower value of 2k1-1k2 for a slight gain increase in the second stage but reduce c11 to stop the bass freqs being boosted at around 180-220Hz in that stage. Also you could add a variable clipping setup (again, see my Hummingbird overdrive) on the first stage to adjust the fizz and dynamic response in the stage. I'd also alter how D2 was implemented to allow a higher headroom for the OP275 opamp too...
