Nice work, thanks for sharing!

i can find J113 in local store , can i replace with J201?

The pinout is the same but the characteristics are quite different. The J113 is much more suited to this job, but the J201 will still work to some extent. Bumping the supply voltage to 18V could make it usable with a J201.

what is the best JFET fo replace it?earthtonesaudio wrote:The pinout is the same but the characteristics are quite different. The J113 is much more suited to this job, but the J201 will still work to some extent. Bumping the supply voltage to 18V could make it usable with a J201.

If you can't find a J113 a J201 is the next best choice, in my opinion. I'm not terribly familiar with many other JFETs... maybe somebody can suggest another with a low VGS(OFF).

In my last batch of 2n5457's from Tayda, i had about 40% with a VGS(OFF) above 1Vearthtonesaudio wrote:If you can't find a J113 a J201 is the next best choice, in my opinion. I'm not terribly familiar with many other JFETs... maybe somebody can suggest another with a low VGS(OFF).
I don't know if that's low enough?

According to this website, the FX30 is based on the 230. The FX30 was then succeeded by the FX30B Gate/Loop. Here is the official schematic for the 30B. I don't know anything else about the differences between them.elkulon wrote:Nobody answered...
What's the difference between DOD FX30 and DOD 230... Both of them are Noise Gates, we know, but... What's the difference between???
