Hey there I've been a reader here for a few months and I love the contribution from members here. I recently started making pedals and I've successfully completed a few which encouraged me to keep doing it, practice and then maybe later work my way up to making amps and stuff.

Anyways, let's get to the point. I like small pedals a lot more than big ones. I know the sound is the crucial thing but looks do have a role in the pedal business. I was wondering if some of you guys could point me to vero schematics that are compact and will fit small enclosures. The size is up to you to decide. I'm basically open to anything at all, be it an OD, distortion, chorus, delay, tremolo, vibrato or anything else.

Thanks in advance!

how about this http://home-wrecker.com/bazz.html

I breadboarded it just recently and it sounds rad, i think i'm going to do mine with a switch to switch between a bazz fuss circuit and a buzz box.

check madbeans site , the individual doc.'s will show you the board size ,
most are as small as they can get .

That's on my wishlist! You're going on standard components, all SMD or some kind of combination?

my kung fu is too weak for SMD, so all standard component:
so far I have:
BJFE-SBEQ (picoEQ); hotcake (pikelet); little angel chorus
done (unverified) layouts for:
crunchbox; heartthrob
done (verified) layout for and 90% built:
deep blue delay (puddleduck)
80% layout done for mxr phase45 (basically same layout as http://solderman.fatabur.se/, but redone in expressPCB)
todo:
layout for bsiab2

might do a compressor too.. prolly the orange squeezer

also having a thing about doing some kinda pre-charged battery systel a-la seven sisters, but include it into the pedalboard instead.. will see how far I get with that

So, so great! Can wait to see it!

How about those A23 12v batteries?

http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSea ... me=N403-ND

Sorry 'bout my noobness, but how should I understand "Capacity: 55mAh @ 480µA"?
Those little bastards could do the job?

no idea.. I'm just gonna grab some batteries out of old laptops (I have access to written off units through my work).. couple of those at 11.1V, and the guts of some to charge them and I think I'll be sweet with a 9V regulator

Thanks, if someone remembers any projects here on FreeStompBoxes, please link to them. I'd like to have a 1590a pedalboard consisting of maybe about 2 boosts, 3-4 od's, 1 chorus, 1 delay, 1 vibrato, maybe a distortion and a a/b box. Sounds pretty solid to me!

https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic ... 51&t=14161 My vero layouts for the One Knob Fuzz, Magnavibe and Silicon Fuzzface Plus will all fit in a 1590A enclosure (about the smallest you can practically go) if alligned lengthways; They will also easily fit widthways in a 1590B (second smallest). All three are fully verified, and my magnavibe is actually housed in a 1590A -Image

There are plenty of great projects for 1590a over at http://www.guitarpcb.com.

Trem, ODs, Boosters, Fuzzes, etc.....

Check out the G.B.O.F. in the PCB store.

This inspired my to try my hand at 1590As a while ago: Solderman, Daniel Zink's and his 1590A board (can't find the pic at the moment, maybe he'll post it here for us) and the entire thread at DIYSB. One of the more recent offerings there had in/out jacks, a 3PDT and standard 9v PP3 battery.... insane.

saw the g.b.o.f but they seem to show it in a 1590b enclosure... can you link to these 'plenty' of projects? I searched for 1590a and only got one result.. is it in the forums, or the store, somewhere else?

None were specifically design for 1590As or even mention in the description, but most were done to be as compressed as possible so a lot will fit. You have to signed in to see the Build Docs but here is the Shop:

http://www.guitarpcb.com/apps/webstore/

Off the top of my head the ones that would fit a 1590A easily would be the C.O.R.500, ODC, EATrem, Stage 3 Booster, G.B.O.F., SHO'Nuff......

Email the site owner, Barry, he may be able to get you a more exact answer.

We were never really concerned about 1590A pedals as most of our people are very new to pedal building.
Our Main concern has been more on making sure components fit properly and all have flat lying resistors.
We are a High Support site catering to a lot of first time builders so it really helps to have a nice easy to work with layout and we provide solid etches to rule that out when it comes to troubleshooting.
However all the ones Rob mentions above except for the EA Tremolo and ODC which might be pretty tight I would see no issues placing in a 1590A.
Add to that the Mastadon Fuzz.
The GBOF alone you may build 12 or so different projects on it as well with more to follow. So really that is a good bit.

Many of the boards which are found in the PCB Shop in the Menu Bar at the top of every page have a measurement in the description somewhere.
If not there is a Component shot of the built up board and that also kind of gives away the size albeit some might be close. I will get the rest up ASAP.
I hope that helps.
Here is the direct Link to the PCB Shop and they are in Alphabetical order and there are 2 paqes of projects.

Just reread the OP and it looks like the he looking for Vero layouts. Sorry I missed that, but a still bunch of good links to some cool designs for smaller enclosures (even if not for vero) ended up being posted. Those Soldersound PCBs are cool, too. I have built a few.

I hope I did not come off anti-mini LOL. I still like them. It is just not what we are aiming for.
Sorry I did not see a Vero thing either.

Here is a Twinkie I built 2 weeks ago as a matter of fact. A Stage 3 Booster.

By the way I will also be carrying the black vinyl washers at my site in bags of 10 in the PCB shop as well.

Lastly I love all those Soldersound pedals they are awesome!
