I've updated the vero layout. The main problem was that the previous version had the output of each gain stage coming off of the Gate instead of the Drain like it's supposed to. Also C2 was backwards.

A good time to be stopping by...

Hmmm looks like a pinout error in the original! My goodness! I should know better than that!

OK, updated on the first page.

Lovepedal..you may wish to have a look at C4 and R6 from your "update" of my layout.....

Guys, please PM me directly if you find an problems with any layouts. I would prefer that rather than cutting them up.

Cheers Igloo.

Igloo, not sure what you are talking about on my C4 and R6? I don't see anything wrong?

Sorry I redid your layout. I hadn't seen you around so I figured I'd just redo it. Thanks for your initial work.

Whoops I see it now. C3 is actually where the problem is. Thanks for the catch.

Thanks for the schematic...I own a Vexter I got on trade...I like the OD circuit, but not the slight bass hump. I think I might modify it now.

That diode is used for polarity protection. Stick in a 1N4001 or anything or just omit it (Get your polarity right!)

The vero layout is still incorrect. C3 connects directly from Q1 Drain to Q2 Gate. C4 and R6 both connect to the gate of Q2 but the other ends are floating (ie not connected to anything).

The signal path should be C3 ->C4/R6 -> Q2 Gate.

I havent checked the rest.

My ORIGINAL layout on page one is updated...
It looks correct to my eyes but also I have asked another forum member to double check it.

Happy new year to all.

Thanks for all the hard work.
I'm a complete n00b at pedal building, but I've always wanted a BoR and if anyone comes out with a kit I'll be first in line.

But what about the bass hump? I must mod my BoR to be truly happy and fulfilled.

cool thanks!
Hey Zaphod
I think that was intended as a joke. There is no BOR kits around (AFAIK).
However the BSIAB has a tone control which is very similar to that in BOR. To be nice we could say that there is a high probability that Zvex was inspired by the BSIAB.
Although in my opinion the real origin for this type of tone ctrl is the old Big Muff.
