Yes he could do that. He could even do both. But I know why most builders dont use the tabs - small knobs wont cover them and then you have big ugly holes in the face of your pretty pedal. Its no like people are putting serious torque on pedal knobs so the tab isn't all that necessary. If you use big knobs you can make use of them though. Small knobs make it hard to put damaging torque on the pot shaft... tab not as necessary. Big knobs make a big lever and you really can put some torque on them... tab much more necessary. A pleasant case where aesthetics and function actually work together.

From the pic it looks like the Bloom pot is just what would be the volume pot of the Electra Distortion... so how are the Gain and Volume set up...Is the Gain just the overal output of the Bazz into another pot for the volume?..

Resurrecting ye oldee thread... Circuit seems simple, but there's some character to it.
Can't make too much of those two images, but here's my guess on the topology (all values, except for non-polar caps are pure guesses). All corrections and speculations are more than welcome. If anyone has access to an original unit, more photos would also be welcome.

I've got one laying around somewhere that I can take apart. IIRC, the trannies are 2N5089s, C3 is a 2.2uF (all the .1's are correct), starve is actually a 100K (weird value for a starve pot), and gain is a 500KB set up as an input level control. I'll grab some pics and resistor values when I get a chance.

Well here's a start. I'll need to either desolder the pots for a better shot of the back layer, or trace it out and correct the schematic. More to come later.

Hey all. I've got this on the breadboard and I'm having some trouble with it. It's more of a low-gain fuzz for me, not like what you'd expect at all.
My voltages at the collector seem kind of low too. With 9.45v+ and the Starve pot turned full CW I get 1.315v @ Q1 and .746 at Q2. I assume I've setup something wrong in my VCC section, but I measure both sides of the 47K going to Q1 and I get 9.2v on the Starve side and 1.3 on the Q side. Here's the layout I came up with.
