Ach! Check out R5 - I had to do the same thing on the fuzz I just designed! Anti-squeal resistor - use with high-gain transistors. Was that a part of the original Si Fuzz Face? I came up with the idea of using it in mine through the process of testing to get a design that wouldn't squeal when the Fuzz control is at maximum. I was able to get away with 47E in my circuit. It's funny how a small resistor like that is all it takes to keep the circuit stable.

Do you mean that crummy plastic one from the early 90's? We're talking about the brand new one that just came out... it's supposed to be way better, but I have no direct experience with it. Is this new one the one you're talking about?

Can anyone suggest ideal voltages for Q1 and Q2 when using the trimmers on these ?
I am building a combined Si and Ge switched for Q1 and Q2 and I would like to base this on the JH-F1 when switched to Si for both transistors.
Can anyone recommend number for the Si transistors as I was going to use BC109Cs
just a guess, but if you are switching out si and ge transistors, you might be better off going with si with a lower gain in order to match a little better with the ge. maybe BC109As? that way the bias wouldn't be as off when you switch. or you could use a switch that switches both transistors and bias resistors.

I was looking at the circuit board of the JHF1 fuzz face and compared it with the schematic posted here. I noticed a small mistake on the schematic. R3 is 332E and R4 is 3K16.

Now you now, why I don´t like that the schematics are spreaded around uncontrolled. Mistakes and new cognitions can always occur. Update is much faster this way.
