How do you know they are bad? Did you replace them with known good SAD1024 chips?pvinz wrote:I have echoflanger (electro harmonix) an two sad1024 are bad.
Are you SURE it is not something else in the circuit?

However, If I got a dollar or a Euro for every time I asked a similar question in an BBD based case and the topicstarter remained silent after that... I'd make a nice pocket money on the side.
In essence, especially with BBD based effects for some odd reason people seem to jump in the conclusion the BBD's are broken very quick.

If you ever give up on repairing that Echoflanger and want to sell it off.... let me know

You know though, I sometimes think that people (and I'm not suggesting the poster is one of these people) who want to buy the more rare BBDs think that they're more likely to get someone to respond to their request if they post with the story that their old, rare pedal has a broken BBD. So rather than simply say, "I really want to buy one of your precious SAD1024s, will anyone spare one?" they try and make it a more tragic story so that perhaps someone is inclined to let go of one to help someone bring a dead pedal back to life.
I only think that is the case in certain posts where I've seen the same back and forth occur:
"Oh man, my ADA flanger is dead, and needs a SAD1024, is there anyone willing to let one go?"
"Did you check other things? How do you know the BBD is the problem?"
"Um... I just do" or "I had a repair guy tell me"
OR, worse yet, someone asks the guy to post photos to help diagnose the problem... and then they go silent.
Again, not saying that's the case here, but I've seen it so many times like Dirk said, that I have to wonder if there's something else going on.
