Gary Hurst never invented anything on his own - therefore simply take a (correct) Foxx Tone Machine schematic and you´ve got it.

Okay, I got all I need

Over 200 mb of pictures. Two slightly different units

Big thanks to DAM forum member Rafmax and my bud BeeDot for hook me up with him

Full project later this week, quality shit takes time

Less differences than I thought

Exhibit one

BC549 transistors, compared to Foxx it have changed value of emitter resistor on Q1 + added bypass cap on there. Also sustain pot value is different and limiting resistor on sustain's pot wiper is insensibly larger and C11 cap in tonestack is 5nF (3nF in Foxx). No other differences. Oh, maybe the diodes, little blue ones, look silicon to me - Ba111 (?) unless 1n111 then germanium. Hard to say

My bad - R14 is actually 100k in the version above

It's 150k in other exhibit ;)

Other differences - all pots 100k Log, BC109 transistors all the way and 3n3 cap in tonestack

The diodes sound like they may be schottky mate, do they look like this:

Electronic Sounds Doubler uses 4 x BC173B.
Foxx Tone Machine Ver. II has also a bypass cap on emitter-resistor of Q1.
Normally there are 3 x 50kA Mitsubishi pots inside - maybe that sustain pot has been changed.
C11 tonestack cap is 3n9 on Electronic Sounds Doubler - on some Foxx Tone Machines you can find 4n.
Diodes are 1N4148 (red in other units) - yes, there have been made also blue ones (by ITT) - todays schottkys didn´t exist.
R14 is 150k in Electronic Sounds Doubler.

Ivlark thanks for vero

Tube exorcist thanks for ES info. Do you have any pictures of that one?

Any info about Moreschi Octafuzz?

In both units I had access to pots look stock, the same inprint on the body of the pot

Was the Foxx Tone Machine the 1st incarnation of this upper octave circuit?
