Had one today under my hands...... nice little box that could deliver nice sounds

Information
Sadly the schematic contains at least two mistakes:
1.) A missing 470k from the base of the input buffer to Vref.
2.) The 100k resistor at the last transistor of the EQ-section should connect to the base (instead of the collector) and the collector should connect to V+
And missing is the information if the trannies are -O, -Y, -GR or -BL types.
The diode at the base of the power-supply transistor is a zener diode with 9,1 V.
Anyway, thanks for the trace,
analogguru

There´s a sucker born every minute - and too many of them end up in the bootweak pedal biz.

I'll check em!
Edit:
You were right I replaced the schematic with a new one. Transistors are of the GR type. Zener is 9.1V. Can't say much on the diodes other that they measure 0.646V (silicon diodes I guess; no markings on em) and 0.305V (germanium diodes I guess; again no markings).

Hi!
Link to schematic doesn't work. Can you give a new link?
Thanks,
Milosz

Sent a pm;
Could you please reup the schematic, attach or if you like to have a partition of the fsb server for ftp upload, lemme know. I think I already proposed this before..."

This is a Boss HM-2 with minor diference, OK?
I have one but I duno where it is. Its noisy and harshy, I tried to mod but after that it sounds more like a DS-1 nothing about the "metal".

I recently bought the Aria... It may not be a real `metal` distortion but I like the way the sound cleans up when I keep the volume low on my guitar. Unfortunately the distortion taper is not working well anymore in the lower regions... but running this pedal in a low gain mode would probably make it great for blues and rock overdrive.

I can't speak for the Aria, but the HM-2 has a really bad taper toward the bottom of the Gain control. From about 8 o'clock to 9:30-10:00, it jumps from almost low gain to almost maximum distortion and doesn't get very much more distorted the higher you turn it past that.Franzki wrote:I recently bought the Aria... It does clean up very well, too, and I think the fuzzy edge of it gives it a unique tone for more of a fuzz than distortion sort of sound.

I have got a Ken Multi MUM-7 for repair, it is identical in construction with the Aria AUM-1.
I found out the types of clipping diodes as follows.
The Silizium diodes are all 1N914 and both Germanium diodes are 1N34A.
