Sh*t, somebody stole my idea.... And I thought that I could become rich by making fuzz-faces-clones with a Big-muff tone-control....Does the fuzz circuit look familiar ??

I now got 2 of these puppies in here for some 110 -> 220 conversion and both don't follow that schematic..........
I'll post some pics / schematic later!

Yo
The wah is great on bass. The fuzz is horrible. The power wah boost is waaay better. Too bad mine was stolen. I got the power wah fuzz thinking it would be a suitable replacement. The fuzz is indistinct and lacks gain. Thumbs down.

Mwa, I dunno. I had both and as the PWB is nice, the boost function is just too much; too much volume! The wah is nice yes!
The fuzz is a weird one; I have two now. A third one is coming this way as it is not functioning normal. I must say that both of the units that are here sound COMPLETELY different. One has a very nice fuzz, the other one has a very bad fuzz........ weird.

hi my morley power fuzz wah is serial 62162 and the inside looks like "No. 2; # 63162". you previously wrote that one sound better than the other. which one of yours sounds the best?
with mine, when the fuzz alone is engaged, the volume is low but when i engage the wah, the fuzz volume jumps up. basically fuzz alone is unusable due to thin sound. i am curious, does your "No. 2; # 63162" have the same problem?
thanks!

- my favorite amplifier: Blackface twin or a vibrolux
- Completed builds: Craig Anderton's tube fuzz, Jack Orman's mini booster, Nicholas Boscorelli's Envelo-matic envelope filter,
some crappy distortion boxes. Just built a heavily customized MXR distortion +, a couple of tube microphones (if that counts). About to build the tremulus lune, Real McCoy wah, and a couple of muff variants. - Location: western hemisphere

Hey guys. I have a very neglected power wah boost a friend gave me. I had the idea to perfboard the boost section, using any salvageable parts from the original. My concern would be in bringing down the supply voltage. I know it would definitely reduce headroom, but would that be the worst thing? Previously in this thread Bernardduur wrote that his had way too much boost. I've built an LPB-2 from my friend's original. It got dirty fast, and I thought it sounded like shit. I built Jack Orman's mini booster which I dig a lot. A little dirty with your guitar volume open all the way, but as the boutique makers say, "It cleans up well with the volume knob". Heh. I'm gonna try the 2SK117's on the mini booster when they arrive in my mailbox. Until then I wanted to experiment. Any thoughts or suggestions? I'm not going to bother tracing the schematic from my pedal, which appears to be an earlier version compared to what was pictured in this thread already. I was using the schematic from here.

I want to bring the PSU down to a lower, more modern pedal voltage rating. I don't want to build a boost pedal with a tranny in it.

Guys I have to resurrect old threads, but Analogguru, were you saying that the Morley Power Wah Fuzz's fuzz circuit is similar to a Fuzz Face? I'm like one of the previouys posters on this thread, I quite like the fuzz my Morley Power Wah Fuzz has, and was wondering if I could get a similar fuzz sound through a standalone peda. tHANKS IN ADVANC GUYS!

little different from a fuzzface with tone control...more like a tonebender with a big muff tone control and diode clipping, innit?
not really, even there.
subtly different, way more parts.
i've had 4 or 5 of these over the years, when i need money they usually go quick.
every single one sounded different. i just picked up a pwb, figured i'd look at the schematic to see if i could add the fuzz to it easily (the later slimline pedals seem to share the same pcb, unlike these old tel rays) but completely different circuits.
got it for cheap on fleabay "doesn't work".... took it downstairs and fired right up. the bulb is cooked. replaced. back in business.
