Can anyone please explain the meaning of the “Rating” percentage displayed for each thread on the forums?

I’ve looked through the FAQs and done a thorough search of the site, and I’m not able to find an explanation.

Thanks!

Good question!

The rating is calculated as the ratio between the thanks count of a post/topic and the thanks count of the most thanked post/topic. You can see the most thanked topic on this page (look for "Friedman BE-OD Pedal [traced]") and the most thanked post here. And, no, I don't know why the most thanked post does not have a 100% rating.

LATER EDIT: In case you're curious, the topic has 462 thanks and the post has 70. There, you have your targets now .

Thanks so much!

I've been curious about the rating "system" since I joined the forum.
I'm just surprised there is no explanation in the FAQs or elsewhere, given that the stat is displayed so prominently in the heading of each thread.

The FAQ comes with phpBB as core files and is stupidly complicated to modify. Maybe one day...
