After many changes and redesigns of parts I made a great version of this one...
I removed "direct sound" and "gain", keeping juts 3 volumes
With the help of a friend I redesigned input stage to work with 3 2N2222 transistors
Used MP20 for the pnp fuzz part
And BC337-40 for the octave part, diodes are D9B Russian.
Will post more details if people are interested

as for the input stage there is a great resemblance to this schematic. Worth a try
