Thank you for the schematic. I know, this is hijacking and all that, but I'm a bit desperate. Please, does anybody know where to find a spare bridge/pickup assembly og how to fix these cursed items...?

There's a slightly battered red Fender version (DeArmond Ashbory) for sale on eBay that maybe you could make a lowball offer on, and use for parts...

I built a ashbory style bass myself, in the shape of a Rickenbacker bass, and initially I tried a diy bridge and pickup using a piezo disc, but that didn't work, so I actually simply order an original replacement bridge and pickup. Also ordered the tuning machines actually, had to put a dowel pin in two of them, as the headstock is 2+2 rather than four in line.

Not sure if that is still an option, but it was most excellent, and not very expensive (IIRC I payed something like 80 euros).
The original strings suck balls though, luckily there are now the cream and black polyurethane strings, let me know if you want to know the brand and type.
