Help with phase 100 script

Hello everyone, this is my first post here and I am looking for some help. Please keep in mind that I am a novice with electronic repair and reading schematics but I am learning. So I’m starting my journey into pedals with a phase 100 script circa 1975. It came in the mail a few days ago and while it mostly works it does have a couple problems.

It is a little bit of a noisy pedal but that might go away after it warms up a bit or if I change its location in my chain, I’m not sure about that. But the main problem is that I can hear the phase when nothing is being played when I’m on intensity positions 2 and 4. On positions 1 and 3 it sounds fine.

Looking at this schematic https://www.freestompboxes.org/downloa ... &mode=view it shows the positions of the switch and which signal path is on/off. With position 2 and 4, sw1a is on. Since these of the affected positions then it leads me to believe the faulty component lies in that path. How would I go about identifying on the PCB which components to test knowing this info? And where else should I look if this isnt the issue?
