hello. The frequency selector seems to respond when the mid potentiometer is almost at the end of its travel. What can I do to improve the response of the potentiometer? I am using 10kb

Pretty much any inductor that has desired inductance within audio spectrum and lowest dcr possible. It's a compromise between size and price.

I've got a box of small size smd power inductors (ferrite cores, shielded) that show almost the same inductance across 100Hz - 100kHz. Not sure how they behave in sub 100Hz region though.

What would be the best substitute Jfet to replace the obsolete 2SK177?

any you can get your hands on, its just a common-drain buffer. unfortunately many jfets are obsolete now
