Yeah, it's got 80's written all over it. Tight, aggressive... Whatever amp he used, sounded like he recorded it with a Marshall cab, it's got that tight closed-back sound.
Funny thing, though. I read in an interview where Warren DeMartini said he recorded the solo for "Round and Round" with a Fender Super Champ. I've got one of those amps, and I never would have guessed it. He must have used a Marshall cab, for sure.

Please don't be mad at me for drifting away from the topic, but now that you mention Warren DeMartini, everyone ought to check out his solo effort. It's a whole new dimension. I don't quite remember the record name now, but it's something like 'Crazy enough to sing for you' or something like that.
The Freestompboxes Forum search function is soo great, use the search function..., the S E A R C H function.

Well the website is in japanese but I can still read the JRC4580D and JRC4558DD.... is that it?

According to google:
Thorough measures for noise, low-cost carbon resistance to using the noise factor, with excellent temperature coefficient of metal-film resistors used. JRC4580D, JRC4558DD, HAMECHIKKUTANTARUKONDENSA, said that the exclusive use of the parts to town.

According to me: HUH???

I"ve always got 3 or 4 going.

I like this one!!! Its quiet, the gain is good... not too much like other Marshall emulations. Tone sweep is ok... all in all its a good box... not great, but solid.
