Anybody familiar with this pedal? I read somewhere (maybe here) that its a COT with an EQ on the front end and clean boost on the output. I don't want to degoop it, cause I love its sound. A buddy at work knows how to run the PC board xray machine so will probably take a look at it there. Just curious what's under that black sh--.....

Cool forum, BTW!

And how would the sound be affected if you degoop it?

If what scares you is the possibility of destroying the circuitry, one of the things folks here have deomnstrated is that degooping one of these aparatus is easy and safe.
The Freestompboxes Forum search function is soo great, use the search function..., the S E A R C H function.

If you have a pedal that you think sounds really good, test it on the cheapest solid state amp.
Since when are Lovepedals gooped?

The sound would be affected if I bust it. Yeah, I know its repairable, I've been a level 3 repair tech for 20+ years, its just this pedal is the best Marshall-inabox I've played, and it was kinda pricey, so.... I'll probably do an xray this week. What's the best degoop recipe for this hard epoxy (see pic)???

Thanks for the link, modman. I think it sounds the best thru a low-power tube amp with a little PT breakup (gave up on SS amps long ago).

i find it cute that lovepedal is now smd. Now the TGP can categorize his pedals in the same class as behringers and danelectros except for the mojo sounding goop.

That goop is nothin. You can get that off easily. Use a very small screwdriver as a chisel.

 Play more???? Stompboxes??? Any suggestions...

This stompbox doesn't sound like a pedal-it sounds like an amp!
BTW, here's an x-ray of the board.

I think that's as far as I'm going with this one. Chiseling off epoxy on an SMD board is not worth the risk.

that x-ray view is great. I'm not good at looking at smd at all, but it looks like there is 8-pin IC op-amp. Also looks like hidden are 5 resistors and 3 caps.
