Information
I wonder if that cap from the input jack to ground is perhaps a short-circuit protector, so that instead of a full mains current a musician can only be accidentally shocked (via his guitar ground and most commonly a mic stand) through the capacitor instead of a straight wire. It could save a life(?)... This idea is also found in the guitar shielding site guitarnuts.com, where they recommend grounding your guitar hardware via a .33uf cap. This obviously does not protect you from the barrel of the input plug nor the jackplate of the instrument, though.

I so dislike the modern digital world that I need to use semi-digital effects to emulate the analog world of cassette, VHS, and vinyl.

I don't think a cap from input to ground can protect you from electric shock. But maybee that's a varistor? Correctly dimensioned it could provide some protection. Then maybe it's just a RF rejection cap....

I could build a pretty crappy pedal that would withstand that tour no problem. Gear on those tours is taken care of very well. Builders should be more concerned with the weekend warriors who toss their own gear into the trunk and head to the gig. Pete Cornish is neat and all but I feel no need to be humble over someone who sticks buffers before and after other companies pedals and sells the resulting hideous and oversized pedals for exorbitant prices.

Ive played a P2, SS2, NG2 and a TES. They were neat but not worth the money or the massive amount of space/direct AC they require. Im sure his various other products are cool too but I dont feel the need to fellate the guy for his track record of roadproofing consumer-grade pedals.

He works hard , and his stuff sounds good, but I think there are too many people kissing his ass in such a way that it creates the infamous "Hype" over something that really isnt there. He does build some great looking Pedalboards , rigs and other works. But there is NO justification in an average joe paying these prices . there is not $1000 to $3000 worth of tone in a single pedal from anyone.. you pay that kind of money for a rare object.. not tone(from a pedal). Circuits are not rare. However there are "collectable pedals" that are.. But there tone CAN be reproduced.. it is up to the consumer to decide what they want.
Me personally I would much rather invest that money in a new Amp , or guitar.. $3k for a delay.. one more time $3k for a delay.. wow... I just dont think I could be convinced a delay sounds "THAT" good.. rugged build or not.
screw it if he can get the $......... good on him.
