Anyone have the schematic? I heard it was the same as the Tennesee ShoSound version.

I did some work with this guy http://www.bosstone.net/dev/index.html He bought and registered the BossTone name a year or 2 ago.
Seemed like a nice guy with big dreams but he doesn't know sh*t about electronics didn't know how to wire the stomp switch up etc.

Proof that he isn't really familiar with Bosstones....from his website....

There was a second version of the Boss Tone, manufactured in Nashville Tennessee by SHO-SOUND. The two versions sounded exactly the same but the latter used a slightly different circuit than the original.

ANYONE who has ever heard of built the CA and TN versions KNOWS that they sound different.

He must be saying that because there would be people asking "is this the CA or TN version?". Then he can just tell them it does not matter because they both sound the same.
Watch, in a little bit he'll have both versions for sale. Then he'll claim "there's a little bit of a difference", months later "they sound completely different from each other".

There were at least 2 Nashville versions plus the CA.
The board is exactly the same for both TN models a few component changes though.

I must have built 4 or 5 and spent countless hours on the breadboard experimenting with almost everything.

BTW If you have built 1 with metal film resistors and Poly caps, just for shits and giggles try building 1 with carbon comp and good .01 ceramic caps. You will be very surprised at how much better it sounds! Also low gain SI transistors are a must if you want it to sound right.

I honestly thought the guy had given up! He is a guitar builder (or so he says) and from what I have heard a pretty damn good guitar player.
I really need to email him we had a gentlemans agreement. If he's using my artwork he owes me at least a new Bosstone pedal

Maybe Vanessa but he has good ears and really HATED the CA.

My guess is that there could be a BossTone BassTone

Or maybe a Mahoney SmoothDrive

Which is a modded FoolTone FullDrive

A modded clone of a modded clone of a...

Or perhaps a Deacy Amp

If he found someone to wind the correct transformers and a heaping pile of good GE's.

What kind of BossTone uses an IC?

Oh, and once again, a booteeker is claiming friggin' cheap-ass Alpha pots are some kind of a great thing.... If someone wants to impress me with fancy pots - howzabout using some Alps Blue Velvets? Or some nice industrial grade Clarostats? Or Allen-Bradley? Or CTS?
I mean c'mon, Alpha a boutique pot? These guys are clueless.

To be truthfull I really don't like any version of the Bosstone. They are just to harsh for my ears. For fuzz give me a big fat mushy sounding GE FF and I'm in heaven! I guess a really talented player can make anything sound good

Vannesa I am kind of curiouse to know about the Deacy. Maybe it would be best to start a new thread though.

Okay if anyone is interested I added most of the VooDoo Bosstone values to my drawing. Got some gut shots but I don't have permission to post them.

The 1K added to the Attack pot is to prevent oscilation that you sometimes get when both pots are turned all the way down.

For the record, I would like to make it publicly known that I currently have no financial or other connections to BossTone or its owner(s). In the past some of my intellectual property was provided to them freely. I also do not anticipate having any future dealings with BossTone or its owner(s).

It's suposed to be a modded bosstone but I've never seen gut shots.
