Has anybody tried John Hollis's Omnidrive? I've read mixed reviews elsewhere, but hoping for opinions from some of this forums esteemed members.

I've built one and it's a pretty versatile tool. The previous comment is somewhat accurate I think, it approximates (rather than mimics exactly) a number of well known circuits and their sounds. I don't know that it is something I would ever gig with, but it is fun to play around with. I found it especially useful for experimenting with stacking different OD sounds since I normally don't keep more than one of my builds on hand at any time.

I know this is an old topic, but I just finished building one recently and thought I'd chime in. I omitted the boost function and the mode switch. I also changed the input cap (C2) to .022 like Mark Hammer recommended. I then tried the original value and decided to stick with it. The preveous poster got it right on when he said it appoximates, rather than directly mimics the sounds of other circuits. I really like the blend function of this circuit. I don't think this is the right distortion for me, so it's a good thing I'm building it for a friend. I'm going to try a couple a different component values in a few places and report back.
It's certainly a good way to switch between sounds and try out different variations without the hassle of multiple pedals.

Reason: Removed the pictures and put the link instead, Mr. R.G. Keen clearly states that he doesn't want his stuff posted anywhere other than GEOFEX.

I built one, and it's pretty cool. I don't really care about emulating Tube Screamers, I'm more interested in being able to get a lot of drive sounds from one box, since I'm not really a drive fanatic. It is extremely versatile. It can do very subtle stuff and really over-the-top stuff in the vein of 4MS Pedals. The octave isn't too pronounced on mine, but I've been told it should be, so I'm guessing there's a mistake somewhere.
